Tibisti Field

The Tibisti Field is located in the central area of the Sirte basin which covers an area of approximately 3,000 sq km and is surrounded by a number of oil fields operated by other companies.

Harouge started exploration in concession No. 13 in 1960 and commenced production of oil in 1964 with production levels at 70,000 bpd in 1965.

The light oil produced from the Tibisti field is of a very high quality, with a gravity rating of between 40 -54 degrees API. The oil is mainly produced with electrical submersible pumps and sucker rod pumps.

Additionally, some 4,000 bpd of crude is pumped from the Dor Marada field, which is operated by Sirte Oil Company, to Tibisti. The blended production is then pumped from Tibisti to Ras Lanuf Terminal.

Tibisti field offers great development potential and Harouge has plans for additional exploration and production projects.
